Listen to the experience of attendee Amira Elmasry from Egypt:
“The training was informative and eye-opening. It helped me a lot as a young professional to better understand policy making and multiple aspects in relation to migration issues. What I liked most about the training is the interactivity and the level of engagement as we had the opportunity to apply the knowledge we learnt through the group assignments and presentations. I was also fascinated with the various backgrounds and expertise of all the participants, which allowed us to have interesting discussions, learn from each other, and view things from different perspectives. I was very thrilled to know about the migration capacity partnership, which is a new concept in the migration field. I would therefore like to thank ICMPD for this great opportunity and allow us to meet participants from different backgrounds, either academically or professionally and we are looking for the upcoming opportunities with ICMPD in the future.”[+] Show More

Listen to the experience of one of our trainers James Dennison, Head of the Observatory on Public Attitudes to Migration (OPAM):
“I delivered a training on impact assessment with extremely talented young policy makers, professionals, and practitioners from across the Mediterranean. This training was focused on building migration and capacity partnerships. A key way of doing that is by seeing the effects of various programs and interventions that governments and international organisations do across the region. We did a range of activities together to build up technical and theoretical knowledge, and by the end of the sessions, the students are already planning their own impact assessments and brings the practice we learnt to face the challenges they have in their countries and jobs.“[+] Show More

Listen to the experience of attendee Nour Bahaa Moussa from Egypt:
“I think it is extremely powerful that ICMPD has been investing in capacity partnership for young professionals in the field of migration. This training was a great opportunity to learn how policies are shaped – policies that govern mobility and to be equipped with the tools to actually design and implement effective policies from behavioural insights, to policy analysis, and to assess the impact of policies. The training’s modules have been complementary and I enjoyed the hands-on sessions and looking at real life case studies to grasp the concept and see how we can analyse policies using the tools that we learnt. Above all, it was also great to meet other young professionals in the field of migration and to learn with and from each other’s experiences throughout the week of the training. I would recommend this training to anyone who is interested in the field of migration.”[+] Show More

Listen to the experience of attendee Sandra El Mir from Lebanon:
“With migration becoming a priority in the political agenda, especially in the Mediterranean region, and with all the tragic events we witnessed in the region in the last few years, we can only be more interested in this field. This training was a great opportunity for me to learn from experts, and trainers who are specialized in the field of migration not only about migration policies, but also about the narratives and how they are shaped and the behaviour that drives those narratives. This training was also an opportunity to interact with other participants, which gave a practical favour to the training and its material. I also believe it is very important to invest in young migration professionals – like myself and the other participants – because we are the future leaders in this field and we can make a positive change.”[+] Show More
