📍 Today marks one month since leaders, partners, and practitioners gathered in Amman for the 6th Governing Board Meeting of the Training Institute on Migration Capacity Partnership for the Mediterranean—a defining moment for joint leadership, strategic direction, and capacity mobilisation across key migration routes.
The event opened with a high-level dialogue led by H.E. Mazin Abdellah Hilal Al Farrayeh, Minister of Interior of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, joined by EU Ambassador H.E. Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, ICMPD Director General Michael Spindelegger, and Deputy Director General Sedef Dearing. Their call was clear: local ownership, sustainable cooperation, and professionalised migration governance are vital to building resilient systems in an increasingly complex landscape.
Preceding this, the Governing Board Meeting, chaired by Dr. Bassim Al Dahamsheh on behalf of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, brought together Southern Partner Countries, donors, and observers to reflect, recalibrate, and reinforce commitment to the Training Institute’s strategic vision under the Migration Capacity Partnership for the Mediterranean (MCP Med) framework.
The series of events also included a crisis management training and focus on digital transformation as an enabler for strengthening practice in the field, along migration routes.
