Last week in Valletta, professionals from Jordan 🇯🇴, Lebanon 🇱🇧, and Tunisia 🇹🇳 came together for five days of intensive regional learning — a clear demonstration of how Migration Capacity Partnerships translate into real cooperation on the ground.
Across the Training Institute on Migration Capacity Partnership for the Mediterranean and our liscensed premises at the ICMPD Mediterranean office, participants completed three EU-accredited training programmes:
• two cohorts of the Award in Vocational Training of Trainers 🎓
• and the Award in Migration Policy Development Essentials 📘
Three courses, one shared purpose: strengthening the skills and systems that support migration governance across the Mediterranean.
These activities were delivered jointly with:
MIDAM III – Enhancing Jordan’s Capacities in Implementing Evidence-Based Migration Policies (funded by Denmark),
CBC IBM NA – Support to Cross-Border Cooperation and Integrated Border Management in North Africa (funded by the European Union),
BMT Tunisia – Strengthening the Tunisian Coast Guard Training Pillar (funded by the European Union),
and in the framework of the Regional Migration Governance Programme (RMGP) (funded by Denmark and Malta).
Beyond the curriculum, this week highlighted something essential:
when professionals from different countries work side by side, they exchange more than knowledge — they exchange approaches, practices, and perspectives that strengthen regional coordination as a whole.
Participants explored common challenges, compared institutional realities, and built professional connections that will support long-term cooperation.
This is where regional impact becomes visible:
in shared discussions, in the development of practical skills, and in the collective commitment to stronger systems across the Mediterranean.
A productive week — and a meaningful milestone for regional collaboration. 🤝✨
