  • November 30, 2025

The Training Institute on Migration Capacity Partnership for the Mediterranean (MCP Med TI) convened its 7th Governing Board Meeting on 23 October in Vienna, under the theme โ€œBridging Contexts, Building Resilience: The Training Institute and the Pact for the Mediterranean.โ€

Representatives from Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด, Lebanon ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง, Libya ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ, Denmark ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ, Malta ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡น, and Austria ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น gathered to review progress, exchange experiences, and define the Instituteโ€™s next strategic direction.

๐Ÿ”นGrowth remains sustainable and strategic: firmly rooted in the Mediterranean, guided by political will, and supported by strong partnerships. Expansion is not just about geography โ€” itโ€™s about deepening capacity, connection, and cooperation.
๐Ÿ”นBy aligning with regional priorities and national systems, the MCP Med TI is shaping into a platform of excellence that connects policy, practice, and education โ€” turning shared challenges into shared progress.
๐Ÿ”นNext step? Embedding the Instituteโ€™s strategy within national, regional, and EU/Mediterranean frameworks โ€” including the New Pact for the Mediterranean โ€” to strengthen links between migration governance, policy, and vocational education and training (VET) systems.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ The meeting concluded with the election of Denmark ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ as the new Chair of the Governing Board, marking a solid transition in leadership. Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด will continue to serve as Co-Chair, ensuring continuity and further strengthening the spirit of regional cooperation, inclusivity, and shared ownership that has guided the MCP Med Training Institute over the past two years.

Governing Board members also visited the Award in Document Examination Essentials accredited training at International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Headquarters, meeting trainees and trainers from Algeria ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฟ, Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด, Lebanon ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ง, and Tunisia ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ณ, gaining firsthand insight into the Instituteโ€™s regional learning environment.

๐Ÿค Heartfelt thanks to all partners โ€” Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Denmark, Malta, and Austria โ€” for their continued trust and collaboration in advancing a sustainable, regionally anchored, and partnership-driven Training Institute.
