🚀 This summer, the very first edition of the Award in Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings Essentials was held in Tunis 🇹🇳, marking a key milestone in the Training Institute on Migration Capacity Partnership for the Mediterranean‘s commitment to regional, certified training on priority migration topics.
📚 Held from 23 to 26 June 2025, within the framework of the Regional Migration Governance Programme (RMGP), this accredited training was organised in cooperation with the Support to Cross-Border Cooperation and Integrated Border Management in North Africa (CBC IBM NA – CCSO NEKRIF) project.
🤝 The training brought together 12 participants from Tunisia 🇹🇳 and Jordan 🇯🇴, representing key institutions including the Ministries of Interior and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
👥 Over four days, trainees:
🔹 Enhanced their ability to detect trafficking indicators
🔹 Deepened their understanding of legal and policy frameworks
🔹 Practiced effective interview techniques with survivors
🔹 Explored national referral mechanisms and multi-stakeholder cooperation
The group’s field expertise and active engagement made this first-ever edition a dynamic space for regional peer exchange, knowledge-sharing, and applied learning.
👏 Special thanks to our authorised trainers and to our colleagues at ICMPD in Tunisia and ICMPD in Jordan for their invaluable coordination and support.
