One of the flagship courses of the Training Institute on Migration Capacity Partnership for the Mediterranean (MCP Med TI) is Migration Policy Development Essentials — designed to equip migration actors with the skills to shape effective, evidence-based public policy. 🧭📊
🗓️ Earlier this May, the course was delivered in Tunis 🇹🇳, bringing together participants from Tunisia 🇹🇳 and Jordan 🇯🇴 , representing the Ministry of Interior of Jordan, as well as Tunisia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Social Affairs, and Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.
💼 Over 5 days, participants:
✔️ Explored the full policy cycle
✔️ Practiced stakeholder mapping
✔️ Learned how to use data in decision-making
✔️ Drafted and peer-reviewed policy briefs
💬 What made this edition stand out?
🌍 The regional richness of the exchange.
Participants openly shared national experiences, learned from one another’s approaches, and brought valuable insights from across both countries.
🤝 This kind of peer-to-peer learning is exactly why regional trainings are so central to our work — they spark collaboration, encourage mutual growth, and foster meaningful dialogue across borders.
⚡ The remarkable energy, creativity, and engagement participants brought to every session!
🙏 A big thank you to our colleagues at ICMPD in Jordan and ICMPD in Tunisia for their valuable collaboration, and to our authorised trainers for their expertise and dedication in delivering this course.
